Economic Observation Network On March 16th, the State Council Information Office held a press conferenceFu Linghui, spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics, chief economist, and director of the Department of Comprehensive Statistics of the National Economy, stated that there is an important change in the consumption related indicators released this year. For the first time, the "online retail sales of goods and services" indicator has been released, while the "online retail sales" indicator has been discontinued. The online retail sales of goods and services are optimized and improved based on the original online retail sales indicators. The main difference is that the "online retail sales of goods and services" indicator expands the statistical scope of online service platforms and strengthens the calculation of online service retail sales. The online retail sales indicators released in the past mainly include two items: one is the online retail sales of physical goods, which mainly reflects the sales situation of online goods; The other item is the online retail sales of non physical goods, which mainly reflects the retail situation of key platform services.

In recent years, with the accelerating development of online services, the National Bureau of Statistics has strengthened its statistics on online service retail. On the basis of the original "online retail sales of non physical goods", optimization and improvement will be carried out, and more online service retail platforms will be included in the scope of statistical surveys to calculate and release the "online service retail sales" indicator. At the same time, the previously released indicator of "online retail sales of physical goods" has been renamed as the "online retail sales of goods" indicator, and its statistical scope and connotation have not changed; The indicator name of "online retail sales" has been adjusted to "online retail sales of goods and services". After the adjustment, the total retail sales of online goods and services have expanded compared to the original online retail sales, mainly due to the increase in online service retail sales.

Next, the National Bureau of Statistics will further strengthen the monitoring of market sales statistics, better reflect the development of consumption, and provide high-quality statistical information for all sectors of society.
