Economic Observation Network According to CCTV Finance, reporters learned from the official website of Apple developers today (13th) that, based on communication with Chinese regulatory authorities, Apple will lower the commission rates for mobile and tablet operating systems in its app stores in China starting from March 15th. The standard commission rate for purchasing and paying apps within the Apple App will be changed from the current 30% to 25%. What impact does Apple's adjustment have on the Chinese mobile application market?
Bi Chunli, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property and Innovation Development Center of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology:This fee adjustment will essentially reduce the annual expenses of Chinese developers by over 6 billion yuan. In terms of market competition and innovation, the reduction of commission rates this time will effectively alleviate the cost pressure on developers, release more profits and resource space for product research and service upgrades, promote domestic small and medium-sized developers to continuously increase their R&D investment, and improve the unbalanced competition pattern in fields such as music, video, gaming, cloud services, and reading.

In addition, Apple promises to maintain fair and transparent terms for all developers, and always provide competitive App Store rates for developers distributing apps in China that are not higher than the overall rate level of other markets, so that more than 5 million Chinese developers can benefit in the long run.
Bi Chunli, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property and Innovation Development Center of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology:At the level of consumer welfare, this adjustment will push the prices of related goods and services back to a reasonable range, enhance consumer choices and information transparency, and achieve quantifiable welfare improvements. The premium of digital goods and services in the Apple App Store will gradually be eliminated, and prices in scenarios such as membership subscriptions, game recharge, live streaming rewards, and mini programs are expected to decrease.
