On the evening of June 26th, BeiGene (688235. SH/06160. HK/ONC. NASDAQ) announced that it will pay a total of 446 million yuan in taxes and late fees.

According to the announcement, a wholly-owned domestic subsidiary of BeiGene has recently received a notice from the local tax authority, requiring it to pay a total of 446 million yuan in taxes and late fees. After receiving the notice, BeiGene agreed to make several adjustments to the previously submitted tax declaration form and confirmed the relevant tax matters with the competent tax department.

BeiGene stated that it will promptly and fully pay taxes as required, and stated that this matter does not involve administrative penalties.

BeiGene also mentioned that after careful judgment, according to the relevant provisions of Accounting Standards for Enterprises No. 28- Changes in Accounting Policies, Accounting Estimates and Error Correction, this matter does not belong to previous accounting errors and does not involve retrospective adjustments of previous financial data.

It is worth noting that BeiGene expects the additional payment to be included in its current profit and loss for 2026, and the specific impact on its net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company for 2026 will ultimately be based on its audited financial statements for 2026.

In the first quarter of 2026, BeiGene's revenue was approximately 10.5 billion yuan, with a non attributable net profit of approximately 1.4 billion yuan, averaging approximately 467 million yuan per month. Roughly estimated, the amount of this tax payment is almost equivalent to BeiGene's total profit for one month this year.

However, BeiGene expects in its announcement that this tax payment will not have a significant adverse impact on its financial condition, ability to continue operating, and normal operations.

Previously, on May 7th, BeiGene raised its 2026 performance forecast, increasing its revenue forecast from 43.6-45 billion yuan to 43.6-45.2 billion yuan. The reason for the revised guidance is the leading position of its core product BTK inhibitor Zebutinib in the US market and its continued expansion in Europe and other important global markets.

It is worth noting that several listed companies have recently issued tax payment notices. In the pharmaceutical industry, several companies including Xinbang Pharmaceutical (002390. sz), Lanfan Medical (002382. SZ), and Aier Ophthalmology (300015. SZ) have made tax payments.
