Wan Jinsong, spokesperson and deputy director of the National Energy Administration, stated at the meeting that in the future, the western region will not only send electricity, coal, and gas to the outside world, but also products and tokens.

Wan Jinsong responded to the question of how China's regional energy deployment will be coordinated in the future, stating that China's energy production is mainly concentrated in the western region, and energy consumption is mainly concentrated in the eastern and central regions. For a long time, a general pattern of "West East Electricity Transmission", "West East Gas Transmission", "West East Coal Transportation", and "North South Coal Transportation" has been formed. During the 15th Five Year Plan period, while expanding the "West to East Transmission", efforts should be made to promote the "West to West Utilization".

Wan Jinsong pointed out that the "West East Energy Transmission" should further expand its scale and effectively guarantee the energy demand in the eastern and central regions. The power sector is accelerating the construction of clean energy bases such as wind and photovoltaic power in the "Three North" region, as well as the construction of transmission channels. It is expected to add more than 80 million kilowatts of West East power transmission capacity. Accelerate the construction of the West East Gas Pipeline in the oil and gas field. In the coal industry, we will continue to optimize the layout of coal transportation and focus on expanding the scale of coal transportation from Xinjiang. At the same time, we will also promote the exploration of potential in key energy consuming areas in the eastern and central regions, strengthen the nearby development and utilization of local non fossil energy, reasonably layout new supporting power sources, and promote the idea that "electricity comes from afar and also from around us".

At the same time, Wan Jinsong stated that "West Energy West Use" needs to further strengthen capacity coordination and steadily guide the optimization of productivity layout. Guide the orderly transfer of high-capacity industries to the western region, promote the coordinated layout of advanced manufacturing, computing power, hydrogen energy and other industries with the development of clean energy bases, and promote the optimization of the spatial layout of energy consuming industries.In the future, the western region will not only send electricity, coal, and gas to the outside world, but also products and tokens.

Wan Jinsong said that in the next step, with the deepening of the "West Energy West Utilization" and "West Energy East Transmission", the national energy production and consumption pattern will also undergo new changes in the future. There are two changes worth paying attention to here. The trend of integrating clean energy with industries will accelerate, and more high energy and low emission industries and projects will land in the western region and use clean energy. Capacity integration will become a new driving force for the economic development of the western region. The second is to generate new forms of clean energy transmission. The "15th Five Year Plan for the Construction of a New Energy System" proposes to deploy a number of green hydrogen ammonia alcohol projects in the western and northern regions, strengthen the layout guidance of hydrogen transmission pipelines, and ensure that new energy can be transmitted not only in the form of electricity, but also through hydrogen energy and green fuels.
