On June 23rd, the Tengshi N8L flash charging version was officially launched, with two versions: the flash charging honor version and the flash charging flagship version. The official guide price range is 319800 yuan to 349800 yuan.
The new car is equipped with second-generation blade batteries and flash charging technology, an EasyThree intelligent chassis, the Eye of the Sky 5.0 assisted driving system, and the Yunnian-A intelligent air body control system as standard across the entire range. It is also the first to be equipped with the in car intelligent assistant "Didi Shrimp".
Under the exclusive flash charging conditions of BYD, it takes 5 minutes to charge the car from 10% to 70%, and about 9 minutes to charge to 97%. The CLTC pure electric range is 430 kilometers, and the comprehensive range is 1550 kilometers. In terms of power, the 2.0T plug-in hybrid engine is equipped with a three motor system, with a comprehensive power of 560kW, a 0-100km/h acceleration of 3.7 seconds, a body size of 5200/1999/1820mm, a wheelbase of 3075mm, and a 2+2+2 six seat layout.
The flash charging version launched this time is the first important product update of the Tengshi N8L series since its launch in October 2025. As the flagship SUV of Tengshi brand, N8L undertakes the task of making a name for itself in the household six seater segment market. Its flash charging version technology solution is transplanted from the group platform, aiming to upgrade charging efficiency and power performance at a lower price.
Looking back at the market trajectory of the Tengshi N8L after its initial launch, its sales have shown a clear upward and downward curve. After being launched at the end of October 2025, the first month sales were only 1071 units, rapidly climbing to 5443 units in the following month and reaching a phased high of 6510 units in December, demonstrating the initial market recognition of this large-sized six seater SUV.
However, as we enter 2026, sales of the Tengshi N8L are declining month by month. Analysts believe that the decline in sales is not only affected by the traditional sales off-season at the beginning of the year and the transition period between new and old models, but also reflects the reality of the continuous upgrading of competition intensity in this niche market. In the field of 300000 yuan six seater SUVs, models such as the Ideal L8, Wenjie M7, Xiaopeng G9, and NIO ES7 have formed a stable user base. In order for new cars to maintain popularity, they must provide significant differentiated value in terms of energy efficiency, range, or intelligent experience.
From the perspective of segmented markets as a whole, the large six seater SUV is one of the fastest-growing categories in the new energy vehicle market in recent years, with annual sales exceeding one million units by 2025. In the first four months of 2026, the cumulative sales of large six seater SUVs were about 432200 units, a year-on-year decrease of 14.24%. This means that this segment is shifting from incremental competition to stock game.
The current market participants include mainstream car companies such as Ideal, BYD, Xiaopeng, NIO, Wenjie, Leapmotor, Lantu, etc. Their products show a high degree of convergence in size, configuration, intelligent solutions, and power parameters. In this context, the Tengshi N8L flash charging version entered the market with a starting price of 319800 yuan, which is slightly higher than the old model's starting price of 299800 yuan. However, the battery capacity has increased from 46.9kWh to 75.26kWh, the pure electric range has doubled from 230 kilometers to 430 kilometers, and the charging time has been compressed from more than 30 minutes for traditional plug-in hybrid models to less than 9 minutes.
Compared with its peers, the Ideal L8 has a suggested retail price of 359800 to 399800 yuan, a comprehensive system power of 330 kW, and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.3 seconds; The recommended price for the WENJIE M7 ranges from 289800 to 379800 yuan, with a power of 330kW and an acceleration of 4.8 seconds. The Tengshi N8L flash charging version outperforms the previous two in terms of body length and wheelbase, and its power parameters also form a clear gradient. Its strategy clearly points to building competitive barriers based on energy replenishment efficiency and performance parameters.
The market has given a two-sided interpretation to the launch of the flash charging version. On the positive side, in the price range of 300000 to 350000 yuan, a six seater SUV that can simultaneously provide 430 kilometers of pure electric range, 9-minute fast charging, and 560kW power is still blank. With the systematic advantage of BYD's flash charging network, the Tengshi has indeed solved the pain points of "slow charging and dependence on slow charging" that have long existed in plug-in hybrid models. The initiative of cooperating with Sinopec to build flash charging piles in gas stations has further expanded the convenience of energy replenishment scenarios. At the same time, the first launch of the "Didi Shrimp" intelligent assistant is based on a multimodal large model, which can link over 2000 body functions, providing new variables for the intelligent experience of the cabin.
The cautious viewpoint points out that the oversized body size limits the flexibility of daily commuting in the city, and the interior design style is relatively conservative, failing to form a clear differentiation from the brand's early products; Compared to competitors such as Ideal and Wanjie, which have established strong user awareness, brand premium still needs time to be cultivated. In addition, although flash charging technology is leading, the coverage density and availability of exclusive flash charging stations still need to be verified in non core areas, and it remains to be seen whether users' actual energy replenishment experience can reach the advertised level.
On the evening of the new car's launch, Tengshi officially announced the start of nationwide delivery and simultaneously launched limited time car purchase rights, including up to 53000 yuan of optional rights, financial discount plans, trade in subsidies, and one-year free flash charging rights, with a comprehensive value of about 100000 yuan. This combination strategy is seen by industry insiders as a psychological compensation for early users after price increases, while also aiming to quickly drive terminal orders.
From the perspective of product iteration pace, the launch of the flash charging version is not only a quick response to feedback from the old market, but also a key measure for Tengshi to leverage the group's technological advantages and take "charging efficiency" as the core breakthrough point in the fiercely competitive large six seater SUV market. The subsequent market performance of the new car will depend on the actual user reputation after delivery, the real coverage effect of the flash charging network, and the response strategies of competitors in the same price range.
