On September 19, 2026, the new book launch conference of the "Outline of Chinese Finance" (hereinafter referred to as the "Outline") and the academic seminar on building an independent knowledge system of Chinese finance were held in Beijing.

Zhou Dan, Deputy Director of the Scientific Research Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, pointed out in his speech that for a long time, many theoretical frameworks and conceptual paradigms of finance have been derived from western practice, which cannot fully adapt to China's national conditions, and it is difficult to fully explain the unique practice of China's financial reform and development in the process of Chinese path to modernization. This urgently requires us to adhere to local practices, extract Chinese theories, and form our own financial concepts, logic, and analytical paradigms. Focusing on the era proposition of Chinese path to modernization and building a financial power, the Outline systematically combs the historical logic, theoretical logic and practical logic of the financial development path with Chinese characteristics. It is a very valuable practice for the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to explore the construction of independent knowledge system in the field of finance.

Yuan Lei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Finance, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and co editor in chief of the Outline, pointed out that the entire book is based on China's national conditions, rooted in China's financial practices, and closely related to national strategic needs. It systematically sorts out the theoretical framework, core logic, practical path, and disciplinary framework of the development of Chinese characteristic finance, and condenses the core categories, basic principles, research methods, and development system of Chinese finance.

Li Yang, a member of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Director of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Capital Market Society, systematically summarized the six innovative highlights of the Outline, and suggested further supplementing the explanation of financial basic theories, strengthening policy finance related content, increasing comparative research on direct and indirect financing systems, and improving the discussion of important issues such as financial derivatives and financial structures.

During her speech, Zhang Xiaojing, a researcher at the Institute of Finance of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and co editor in chief of the "Outline", reviewed the century long history of Chinese finance. She stated that China has gone from the initial process of imitation and reference as a primary school student to the two miracles of rapid economic development and long-term social stability created by Chinese finance, greatly enhancing the confidence in the path and theory of Chinese finance and laying a solid foundation for building an independent knowledge system of Chinese finance.

Professor He Liping from the School of Economics and Business Administration at Beijing Normal University believes that the Outline has two major characteristics: "physical beauty" and "soul beauty": "physical beauty" deeply explores the theoretical foundation of China's financial development from theory and practice, and "soul beauty" comprehensively and accurately reflects the new reality and achievements of China's financial development path. In addition, he emphasized the importance of capital, pointing out that finance is the core of modern economy, and capital is the core of modern financial system. In terms of the relationship between overseas finance and domestic finance, he believes that the development of overseas finance has also provided assistance to the development of domestic finance in China to a certain extent. In the context of economic globalization, the further development of Chinese finance in the future will also contribute to the global economic and financial development.
