Recently, the China National Intellectual Property Administration announced the award decision of the 26th China Patent Award. The invention patent "A Ganoderma lucidum oligosporum variety with high yield of polysaccharide and its artificial cultivation method" (patent number: ZL202011482279.3) jointly tackled by Infinity (China) Co., Ltd. and academician Wu Qingping of the Institute of Microbiology, Guangdong Academy of Sciences won the excellent award of the China Patent Award.

This award, jointly awarded by the China National Intellectual Property Administration and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), is a national award in the field of intellectual property in China. The China Patent Award represents the highest evaluation of patent creation, technological innovation, and achievement transformation in China, aiming to recognize high-quality patent achievements with strong technological innovation, outstanding economic benefits, and application value.

This Infinitus award-winning patent focuses on the breeding of high-quality Ganoderma lucidum strains. Lingzhi is a medicinal and edible raw material that has been passed down for thousands of years in China, and polysaccharides are an important active ingredient that plays a role in regulating health. For a long time, the development of the industry has faced the dilemma of "bottleneck" in terms of seed sources: China has a scarcity of Ganoderma lucidum strains with independent intellectual property rights, and mainstream cultivated varieties are mainly introduced from abroad. In addition, the bacterial strains commonly suffer from issues such as vitality degradation, and the polysaccharide content of some Ganoderma lucidum is even difficult to meet the standards of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.

In response to the technical difficulties in the above-mentioned industries, this patent relies on the team of Academician Wu Qingping from the Institute of Microbiology, Guangdong Academy of Sciences, who has gone through 20 years to collect and construct the largest wild edible and medicinal mushroom germplasm resource library in China from 26 provinces (autonomous regions) and more than 100 nature reserves. A closed-loop breeding system of "molecular identification domestication screening comprehensive evaluation" has been established to select high-quality Ganoderma lucidum strain M624 from 22 wild Ganoderma lucidum strains, completely breaking the monopoly of the strain by foreign countries and firmly holding the "seed chip" of the Ganoderma lucidum industry.

After multiple control cultivation experiments, it was verified that the crude polysaccharide content of M624 fruiting body reached 2.6 times the standard of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (0.9%) during the screening stage, which was significantly higher than the imported control strain. Infinitus has established a complete patent protection network covering the entire chain of Ganoderma lucidum raw materials, including strain selection, efficient cultivation techniques, and active ingredient extraction techniques. The technology can be extended to multiple fields such as immunity and anti-aging. In the future, we will continue to implement more traditional Chinese medicine health products based on our own bacterial technology, enriching everyone's daily health plans.

Winning the Excellent Award of the China Patent Award this time is an important milestone in the deep collaboration between industry, academia and research, and the cultivation of traditional Chinese medicine technology by Infinitus. Relying on the academician workstation jointly built with Academician Wu Qingping's team, the two sides have jointly carried out scientific research on the selection of high-quality strains of edible and medicinal fungi, food safety, and other fields, and have achieved multiple heavyweight innovative results. This award is another fruitful result of industry university research cooperation.

The confidence of Chinese health preservation comes from independent and controllable source innovation; The fundamental source of user peace of mind comes from the continuous accumulation of hardcore technology. In the future, Infinitus will continue to vigorously develop traditional Chinese medicine technology, with germplasm innovation, raw material development, and active ingredient research as the core. We will continue to explore the health value of Chinese herbs such as Ganoderma lucidum, and use national level innovation achievements such as the China Patent Award to safeguard the healthy lives of millions of users.
