Currently, the country has accumulated over 260 confirmed cases, and the epidemic has affected many parts of the provinces of Burundi, North Kivu, and South Kivu.

In order to improve the efficiency of epidemic prevention, the local authorities have compressed the time for Ebola virus detection results to 48 hours, and all pending samples have been tested, completely solving the problem of sample backlog and greatly accelerating the efficiency of case screening, isolation, and close contact tracing. As of May 30th, more than 900 samples have been tested locally, and over 260 confirmed cases have been identified, of which 142 patients are receiving treatment at the treatment center.

The Minister of Health of the Democratic Republic of Congo stated that the current epidemic monitoring, case tracking, incubation period control and other work are steadily advancing, and the prevention and control effects are significant. Based on the current progress in epidemic prevention, it is expected that the current Ebola epidemic can be fully controlled and eradicated within 4 to 6 months.

At present, the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo is working with international health partners to continue case monitoring, contact tracing, patient treatment, and community awareness work, and calling on the public to continue to strictly comply with epidemic prevention measures to prevent further spread of the virus.
