At 8am, domestic voting officially began, with over 41.4 million registered voters casting their ballots from 11 presidential and vice presidential campaign groups. There are approximately 13000 polling stations nationwide and polling stations in 67 countries overseas. The voting will end at 16:00 on the same day, and the preliminary vote counting results are expected to be announced that evening.

According to pre election polls, the top three candidates with leading support rates include Ivan Sepeda, a candidate from the left-wing ruling coalition "Colombian Historical Convention Alliance," independent candidate Abelado de la Esprilla from the far right political group "Defenders of the Motherland," and Paloma Valencia, a candidate from the right-wing Democratic Center Party.

According to the Colombian Constitution, if a candidate receives more than 50% of the vote in this round of voting, they will directly win the election; Otherwise, the two candidates with the highest number of votes will proceed to the second round of voting. The second round of voting will be held on June 21st, and the new president will be sworn in on August 7th.
