Beijing, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Major banks in South Korea are expanding their foreign exchange trading teams and strengthening their presence in Seoul and London to cope with the upcoming launch of the 24-hour Korean won foreign exchange market.

Korea Bank has deployed 8 additional employees to its London office, covering positions in foreign exchange, derivatives, and bond trading. Hana Bank in South Korea has added new traders in Seoul and implemented three shift rotation to achieve round the clock coverage. Shinhan Bank and KB National Bank have also simultaneously expanded their personnel and upgraded their systems.

This adjustment is to comply with the 24-hour foreign exchange trading system for the Korean won, which will be launched from July 6th, in order to enhance market liquidity and promote the internationalization of the Korean financial market.
