China Telecom's Quantum Classical Hollow Core Fiber Transmission Breaks Global Record

Economic Observation Network According to the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily, China Telecom Research Institute, relying on the cloud network integration new infrastructure pilot platform and large science and technology innovation device, has successfully achieved stable co transmission of 40Tbps (50 ? 800Gbps) ultra large capacity classical optical communication and commercial quantum key distribution (QKD) system on a hundred kilometer hollow fiber, jointly with top industry university research teams such as Guodun Quantum, Changfei, ZTE, and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. The secure key rate has reached 9.56kbps, effectively solving the problem of noise suppression in high-capacity transmission and quantum signals under co fiber conditions, and clearing key technical obstacles for the large-scale commercial deployment of quantum secure communication.
