• Reasonable distribution of axle loads for new energy commercial vehiclesThe maximum allowable axle load limit for each side of a single tire on a single axle has been increased from 7000 kilograms to 8000 kilograms, effectively alleviating the problem of front axle overload caused by concentrated battery loads in new energy commercial vehicles and providing greater design margin for axle load distribution and structural layout of new energy vehicle models.
• Innovation in energy-saving vehicle modelsAdd definitions for streamlined semi-trailer tractor and streamlined articulated train terms, clarify the length limit of streamlined articulated trains as 18.1 meters, adapt to the development of low wind resistance energy-saving vehicle models, and help commercial vehicles reduce carbon emissions.
• In terms of convenience in container transportationThe length limit for articulated trains transporting 45 foot containers will be increased from 17.1 meters to 17.3 meters, and the maximum distance from the center axis of the semi-trailer towing pin to the rear end of the vehicle will be standardized to 12.2 meters. This will improve the convenience of matching the main trailer of container transport vehicles and selecting three-axis towing vehicles, respond to the trend of improving the total weight of containers, and balance the efficiency and convenience of multimodal transport.

In order to ensure the effective implementation of the standard, while considering the preparation period such as technological transformation, cost investment, and switching between new and old products for car companies, a step-by-step implementation plan has been developed for this standard. For newly approved vehicle models, it will be implemented from July 1, 2027; For vehicle models that have obtained type approval, implementation will begin on January 1, 2028.
