At the 2026 Shanghai Book Fair Digital Publishing Hall, there are many viewers surrounded by a screen. The staff clicked on the AI+version of "Siku Quanshu" in Wenyuange, entered keywords, and the relevant ancient book content quickly appeared on the page.

After finding the desired content, you can right-click and select 'reference' or simply copy it. If you feel it's not safe enough, you can go back to the original text and proofread it again, "said Lu Xiumei, a staff member of the Digital Department of Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House, as she operated. The AI+edition of Wenyuange's "Siku Quanshu" is based on the 2012 photocopy of Wenyuange's "Siku Quanshu" published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House. It includes more than 3400 types of resources, over 79000 volumes, and over 800 million words. Through deep learning and knowledge graph technology, static page text is reconstructed into searchable, associative, and reusable resources, greatly improving the efficiency of ancient book research and learning; Equipped with intelligent question and answer services, it can inquire about punctuation, indexing, and translated text, and answer questions about allusion interpretation, cultural and historical knowledge, and more.

In response to the revitalization of ancient books, the "Judian Writing Assistant" on the other side of the digital publishing hall has also attracted many viewers to experience it. The staff will input a text into the system, and the page will immediately provide prompts for knowledge verification and manuscript review, and indicate the relevant basis. Unlike typical generative tools, the "Ju Dian Writing Assistant" launched at this book fair relies on professional corpora and traceable data, emphasizing "where do answers come from".

At this year's Shanghai Book Fair, Shanghai Century Publishing Group carefully built a digital publishing hall, presenting for the first time the behind the scenes engine of "AI+publishing" and front-end products on the same stage: from content production to knowledge services, from ancient book revitalization to smart education, a matrix of digital intelligent products covering multiple scenarios and terminals appeared together.

If the AI+version of "Siku Quanshu" and "Judian" present knowledge services for readers, then "Century Ink Pool" showcases the intelligent production process behind a book. The staff retrieved different functional modules on site, and presented the trends of topic selection, text translation, review and proofreading, e-book generation, and marketing material production on the screen in sequence. The audience not only sees the final form of a book, but also understands how artificial intelligence permeates the planning, editing, production, and distribution processes.

Liu Yinchun, Deputy Director of the Digital Publishing Department of Shanghai Century Publishing Group, told reporters that the "Century Ink Pool" intelligent publishing platform was independently developed by Shanghai Century Publishing Group. It was publicly displayed for the first time and a cooperation negotiation channel was simultaneously opened at the book fair. The platform accurately anchors long-term pain points in four major areas: topic selection planning, content derivation, review and proofreading, marketing and distribution. It builds an intelligent agent system covering the entire publishing process and develops an innovative "AI laboratory" to form a one-stop service platform driven by "data+AI". 16 intelligent agents each perform their own duties, improving the overall efficiency of the core production process by over 80%.

During the Shanghai Book Fair, the "Cloud Collection" database (Phase I) of Duoyunxuan was officially released. Duo Yunxuan relies on over a hundred years of accumulation in calligraphy and painting collections, systematically digitizing and archiving scarce publications of nearly 200 famous calligraphers and painters, covering the period from the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China to 1990. Zhu Qi, General Manager of Duoyunxuan Group, introduced that the first issue has included over 700 precious book and periodical resources, including Republican journals, with more than 40000 pieces of data, forming a high-quality knowledge base covering the life, creative context, and publishing origins of famous authors.

Breaking away from the traditional perspective of book publishing and examining publishing from the perspective of 'large-scale dissemination of knowledge and ideas', it can be said that digitization is the present of publishing, and intelligence is the future of publishing. "Two years ago, Mao Wentao, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Century Publishing Group, described the present and future of publishing in this way. Now, this vision is accelerating its realization.

Mao Wentao introduced that in recent years, Century Publishing Group has adhered to the principle of "demand-oriented and application-oriented", focusing on the bottlenecks, pain points, and efficiency bottlenecks in the key links of the entire publishing process, following a progressive development path of "focusing on industry pain points, improving process efficiency, and expanding application boundaries", practicing "big platform publishing, big data publishing, and big model publishing", and promoting the full coverage of digital intelligence technology from content production to marketing and distribution. From content production to data asset monetization, we strive to establish a complete closed loop from knowledge accumulation to value release, providing a solid infrastructure and reusable assetization path for the digital transformation of the publishing industry.

It is worth mentioning that the multilingual parallel corpus of Shanghai Translation Publishing House has been officially listed on the Shanghai Cultural Property Exchange, marking a crucial step in the systematic layout of Century Publishing Group from data productization to data assetization.
