Strictly prevent mountain floods and land disasters, strengthen early warning and transfer

Mountain floods and geological disasters are the focus and difficulty of flood prevention work. Various regions and departments have taken targeted preventive measures, closely monitoring risk points, critical periods, and key targets, and weaving a dense network of early warning calls and risk avoidance transfers.

The rain is too heavy, come with us! After the rain, more than 500 members of the 38 flood prevention teams in the town went to their posts to implement a "one-on-one" paired assistance mechanism for special groups such as the elderly, the weak, the sick, and the disabled. They also coordinated the layout of 37 village level resettlement points, 9 temporary hotel resettlement points, and 1 town level centralized resettlement point. There are 22 dangerous reservoirs in Mount Huangshan City, Anhui Province, which is the focus of flood and typhoon prevention. Before being affected by Typhoon "White Dolphin", the water levels of large and medium-sized reservoirs in the province had all dropped below the flood control level, and 120 dangerous reservoirs were operating empty. The Water Resources Department has 9 special working groups for reservoir safety, mountain flood prevention, etc. that operate 24 hours a day to scientifically dispatch water conservancy projects.

According to the water department of Shanghai, due to the impact of Typhoon "White Dolphin", the water levels of Huangpu River and Suzhou River have exceeded the warning level. Various districts along the line have carried out inspections on weak bank sections, embankment construction projects, historical accident prone sections, flood control gates, etc. A total of 2562 embankment inspection personnel have been dispatched, and about 10502 kilometers of embankments have been inspected.

The Shanghai Embankment Center coordinated and dispatched four professional embankment rescue teams to rush to key areas, and deployed emergency rescue materials such as water pumps, woven bags, sand and stone packers, and lifting lighting platforms as needed to support the implementation of emergency response measures in the local area.

During this round of rainfall, the highest water level of Tankou Reservoir in Gucheng County, Hubei Province reached 142.97 meters, exceeding the flood control limit by 3.97 meters. On the night of August 14th, Tankou Reservoir in Gucheng County was still releasing water, and Jiang Guangyao, the director of Tankou Reservoir Engineering Management Office, and his colleagues were patrolling the dam back and forth.

During high water level operation, we conduct inspections every two hours. In recent days, the pressure of flood and typhoon prevention has continued to rise, and multiple departments in various regions have coordinated and cooperated to systematically control urban waterlogging.

On the morning of August 9th, the tide level at the Huangpu Park Hydrological Station in Shanghai once exceeded the 4.55-meter warning line. The Municipal Water Resources Center activated the emergency dispatch plan for high water level flood control of Suzhou River according to instructions, easing the flood control pressure on the main channel of Suzhou River. In recent days, various drainage and rescue teams have been fighting continuously. There are a total of 118 mobile pump trucks in the city, which can discharge 200000 cubic meters of accumulated water per hour.

Since August 10, many places in Henan have experienced rainstorm to heavy rainstorm. The Zhengzhou Fire Rescue Mobile Detachment quickly mobilized 45 rescue vehicles, 750 soldiers, and more than 4900 sets of rescue equipment, which were deployed in multiple routes to 7 key locations in 5 cities.

Continuous heavy rainfall has caused serious water accumulation in some low-lying sections and road culverts in Baofeng County, Pingdingshan City.
