The new regulations for innovative drugs do not limit BD, but it has become difficult to sell companies

On October 16th, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Science and Technology solicited opinions on the revision of the "Catalogue of Technologies Prohibited and Restricted from Export in China". The scope of this catalog has been significantly reduced compared to previous versions, mainly involving the transfer of ownership of cell and gene therapy, small nuclear acid drugs, and pathogenic microorganism technology and process platforms. The new policy specifies that common BD models such as external authorization will not be affected, and only the behavior of selling platforms or companies will be managed. Industry insiders believe that cross-border mergers and acquisitions are not common in the innovative pharmaceutical industry, and this adjustment has limited impact on most companies, but may reduce the willingness of US dollar funds to invest.
