On September 11th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology clearly stated at a press conference that it will prevent unreasonable innovative designs and automotive products that have not been fully developed, tested and verified from entering the market. Guo Shougang, Director of the Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out that some automobile production enterprises have a one-sided pursuit of cost reduction and neglect product quality requirements. Some enterprises apply technologies or designs that have not been fully tested and verified to vehicles, which brings hidden risks to product quality and safety. To this end, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is working with relevant departments to study and formulate the "Notice on Further Strengthening the Management of Innovative Design and R&D Testing and Verification of Automotive Products", which will guide enterprises to strengthen safety assessment, reliability, environmental adaptability and other R&D testing and verification by increasing technical review requirements and improving review and evaluation mechanisms. The next step will be to issue and implement the relevant standards as soon as possible, accelerate the revision of relevant standards, achieve full coverage of inspections for key vehicle manufacturers and testing institutions, increase the exposure of typical cases, and prevent unreasonable innovative designs and products that have not been fully researched and verified from entering the market. Previously, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology had standardized innovative designs such as hidden door handles and full touch interaction. The new regulations stipulate that each car door must be equipped with an independent mechanical release device to ensure that it can be opened manually after power failure or collision; 19 core driving functions, including turn signals, dual flashing, wipers, and gear shifting, must be equipped with exclusive practical longitudinal components.
