270 million yuan deal for Ferrari's high-end custom version Luce, making it the most expensive new car auction in history

On August 17th, at the Sotheby's charity auction held during Monterey Auto Week in California, a high-end customized version of Luce sold for $40 million (approximately RMB 270 million), breaking the previous record and becoming the most expensive new car auction item in history. The original record was also set by a customized version of Ferrari Daytona SP3, with a transaction price of $26 million (approximately RMB 187 million). At the end of May this year, Ferrari unveiled its first pure electric vehicle in brand history, the Ferrari Luce, in Rome, Italy, with a starting price of approximately 4.35 million yuan. Due to different opinions on appearance, configuration, etc., the release of the new car has been controversial. The controversial points include some people's belief that the minimalist and rounded "consumer electronics style" design seriously deviates from the brand's traditional sharp supercar aesthetics, and the four door five seat layout is questioned for diluting the scarcity and racing genes of the "Leap Horse". Regarding this, former Ferrari chairman Luca Claudette di Montezemolo stated in a media interview that "Ferrari's myth is facing destruction.
